Best practices for organizing experiments

THIS ARTICLE WILL HELP YOU:
  • Organize experiments in a project
  • Quickly filter and find experiments

As your optimization program grows, your Optimizely project will include more and more experiments. Sifting through them can be overwhelming. Below, we provide a few tips to help you organize experiments in Optimizely.

You can also read more about managing experiments and projects.

Archive experiments

Consider archiving experiments that are no longer active, so they don't show up in your project. You'll still be able to reference and un-archive the experiment, if you like.

To archive an experiment:

  1. Navigate to the Home page.

  2. Select the experiment and click the Archive () icon.

To access archived experiments:

  1. Under the Experiments tab, click the dropdown menu and select Archived.

  2. Select an experiment and click Unarchive.

Use the description field

Use the description field to detail which variations won or lost, and record the main purpose of the experiment. You'll be able to see this description in the experiment list, without opening the experiment itself.

In the Experiment Details sidebar, click Edit Text to open the description field. Add your description. Click Save when you're done.

Filter by name

On the Optimizely Home page, use the Filter by name field search for your experiment.

Optimizely will display a list of experiments that match your terms.

Happy organizing!
